Meet Delanda . . .

Delanda Jones is a native of Milwaukee, WI, and graduate of Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) Baking Production and Culinary Arts Program. She also earned a diploma as a  Master Decorator and Gum Paste Artistry  from Wilton School of Cake Decorating in Darrin, IL. Delanda's cake have been featured in Bliss Magazine, Bride Magazine, Premier Bride and other national publications. But her greatest accomplishment is as mother and grandmother.

Delanda has always believed in gifts from the heart, and had in previous years given assorted butter cookies, mini pies, cakes and other treats as gifts during the holiday season. But after a trip south to Memphis, TN in 2010, she discovered a new idea for Christmas Gifts . . . chocolate. Her aunt Bettie had just started a small business making turtle candy, and Delanda wanted to learn how.

When she returned home she looked for recipes for turtles, and found a few, but nothing that spoke to her like Aunt Bettie's turtles did! So she started with a basic recipe, and worked on it for six months until she had a rich creamy texture to encasing fresh whole nuts. From there she created nut clusters and added a favorite from Christmas past . . . Rum Balls.

Christmas 2011 was the first trial for Christmas Chocolates, and they were a huge hit with everyone! The request for her homemade chocolates began soon after. Before she knew it, she was creating them for birthdays, baby showers, weddings, and other special occasions for family and friends. But it wasn't until 2014 after her third diagnose of Breast Cancer that she considered making candy her career.

With her families support she made it official, and in February 2015 Chocolates by Delanda Inc was officially started. Since then Delanda has expanded her product line to include gift sets, custom favors, and limited edition infused chocolates, and other holiday items.

Chocolates by Delanda continues to use only the finest ingredients from around the world and local vendors. And our products are still made with no preservatives. Our turtles, nut clusters, and infused chocolates are all still handmade and packaged, right down to the hand-tied satin bow.
